RanchoBot Challenge 2024

Suvidha International Foundation collaborated with the City of Rancho Cordova to host a Free Robotics Training Program and Competition tailored for students in Grades 4th through 8th. Financial support was generously provided by the Rancho Cordova City’s Community Enhancement Fund. Sixteen robotic teams took part in the initiative, benefiting from 20 weeks of training. The competition comprised three challenges: Line Follower, Sumo-Bot Wrestling, and Pick, Pack and Place. Teams were categorized into Level I and Level II, with the former participating in Line Follower and Sumo-Bot Wrestling, and the latter engaging in all three challenges. Mentored by local First Tech Challenge teams, participants utilized Lego kits, and scrimmage events allowed them to fine-tune their robots. The program also featured a Youth Empowerment Program, including a stressmanagement workshop that benefited 15 participants. Survey results from 10 respondents highlighted a positive impact on participants. The competition, held on May 11th, 2024, involved 15 teams competing in separate categories for Level I and Level II. Winners were determined based on scores, with additional special awards recognizing performances and core values. Ultimately, the program successfully promoted STEM engagement, nurtured creativity, and cultivated engineering and team-building skills among students, culminating in the recognition of participating teams with trophies and cash prizes.

Speech & Debate

In 2024, marking its second year, Suvidha International Foundation, in partnership with the City of Rancho Cordova, continued the Free Speech and Debate Program for 4th to 8th-grade students, supported by the Rancho Cordova City’s Community Enhancement Fund. This program aimed to build on its success from the previous year by further instilling essential life skills such as research, writing, critical thinking, organization, persuasion, conflict resolution, and communication. Eligible participants included students from selected schools in Rancho Cordova and resident students of the city. The program offered separate Speech and Debate camps conducted over Zoom in two sessions, with experienced high school mentors providing training and additional volunteers serving as judges. Over 25 students participated in both the Speech and debate programs. The first camp concluded with virtual competitions, whereas the second camp’s competitions were held in person, allowing participants to showcase their improved skills. The camp organizers and youth coaches honored the winners, presenting trophies for the Speech Program and acknowledging the debate competition participants. In its second year, Suvidha International Foundation successfully trained over 100 students in grades 4 through 8, with 80 actively participating in the competitions. Trophies and cash prizes were awarded to the top performers in both the Speech and Debate Programs.

Diwali Celebrations:
Rancho Cordova & Folsom

The Sacramento-based Suvidha International Foundation, a non-profit organization in California, USA, hosted two vibrant Diwali celebrations in 2024—one in Rancho Cordova and the other in Folsom. These events showcased the richness of Indian culture, encouraged community engagement, and brought people together to celebrate the Festival of Lights in a spirit of unity and joy. Diwali, celebrated by millions globally, symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. This cherished festival fosters unity, hope, and harmony, transcending cultural and religious boundaries. While deeply rooted in Hindu traditions, Diwali is also observed by Jains, Sikhs, and some Buddhists, making it a celebration that bridges diverse communities. The Rancho Cordova Diwali celebration featured dazzling decorations, captivating cultural performances, singing, competitions, and a wide variety of food stalls. The event also welcomed the participation of local non-profits and businesses. A highlight of the evening was an address by Vice Mayor Smt. Siri Pulipati, who shared her thoughts with the audience and praised the event’s inclusivity. Meanwhile, the City of Folsom celebration offered its own unique charm, with vibrant Diwali-themed decorations, singing, cultural performances, and stalls. The event also included safe and environmentally-friendly fireworks, adding to the festive atmosphere. City Council member YK Chalamcherla graced the occasion, interacting warmly with attendees and emphasizing the importance of cultural events in strengthening community bonds. Both events were a resounding success, bringing together people from all walks of life to honor the spirit of Diwali while promoting cultural awareness and community togetherness.

Community Collaboration Brings Winter Warmth to Kinney High School Families in Rancho Cordova

Suvidha International Foundation, in collaboration with the Rotary E-Club of Silicon Valley Health & Wellness and the Rotary Club of Rancho Cordova, successfully conducted a winter clothing drive in Sacramento, the capital of California. On December 11, 2024, more than 500 jackets and sweaters, along with socks, jeans, and scarves, were collected and distributed to students and families from Kinney High School, benefiting over 200 individuals facing economic hardship.

This initiative provided critical relief to underprivileged families by ensuring students had proper winter clothing. The donations helped reduce financial strain, supported student health during cold months, and enabled students to attend school comfortably and confidently, improving focus and participation.

The drive was originally initiated by the Rotary Club of Rancho Cordova and expanded when, at the request of Siri Pulipati, Suvidha International Foundation took the lead, with strong support from the Rotary E-Club of Silicon Valley Health & Wellness. The campaign was powered by 22 dedicated youth volunteers and their parents from Rotary clubs and Granite Bay High School.

Under the leadership of youth volunteers Pranil Raichura, Sriram Vempati and Naman Raichura, students from the Rotary E-Club and Granite Bay High School worked tirelessly to collect, sort, and distribute the clothing. Adult volunteers, including Bhaskar Vempati, President of Suvidha International Foundation, and Prachi Raichura from the Rotary E-Club, played a key role in organizing and executing the drive.

Kinney High School expressed deep gratitude for the initiative, noting its positive impact on students and families. What began as a goal to collect 100 jackets far exceeded expectations, reaching over 500 items distributed. This effort showcased the power of community collaboration, youth leadership, and compassion in bringing warmth, dignity, and hope to families in need.

Summer Camps

Suvidha International Foundation organized two successful Summer Camps in June and July 2024, offering a wide range of educational programs. The camps featured Speech and Debate, Python coding, Java coding, introductory Spanish, and comprehensive mathematics courses, including IM1, IM2, IM3, Precalculus, and Vedic Mathematics.

Hosted by Suvidha International Foundation, these camps served a dual purpose. They helped students build strong academic and communication skills while also contributing to fundraising efforts that support the Foundation’s charitable service initiatives.

Nearly 200 students participated across both camps, with classes led by 25 enthusiastic youth volunteers who ensured a high-quality learning experience. Through their dedication, the volunteers earned valuable service hours and became eligible for recommendations for the Presidential Volunteer Service Awards, with several volunteers receiving the award.

The proceeds from the summer camps will directly support the education of five girl children during the 2024–25 academic year, reinforcing the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to empowering young learners and creating meaningful social impact.
