Speech & Debate 2023
In partnership with the City of Rancho Cordova, Suvidha International Foundation organized a Free Speech and Debate Program and Competition for Rancho Cordova students of Grades 4th through 8th. The Rancho Cordova City’s Community Enhancement Fund provided financial support to the program.
Why S&D?
The speech and debate programs have taught the students the valuable skills they will use for the rest of their lives, researching, writing, critical thinking, organization, persuasion, conflict resolution and communication skills. These skills are necessary in every part of our lives and learning these skills at a younger age will allow students to apply them to their day to day activities.
About Speech & Debate
The speech program provided the basics of different category types including oratorical, persuasive, impromptu, dramatic, humorous, and poetic to the program attendees and train them on their preferred speech categories.
The debate program provided an overview of different debate category types including middle school debate format and Public Forum to the program attendees.
The speech and debate program trainings and competitions are conducted by experienced high schoolers, who have competed in and won regional, state, and national level competitions.
